On 10th May 2018 a seminar dedicated to this predator, now in expansion, in order to understand the phenomenon without prejudices
An afternoon to talk about the return of the wolf in the Lombardy Alps. "WolfAlps: the wolf in the Lombardy Alps. The presence in Lombardy of a species that makes an impact" is the title of the seminar, which recalls the historic presence of the wolf in the Region, and then addresses the biological aspects, the wolf-human interactions, the return of the species and the conservation level in these areas.
In order to deeply understand the development of this natural recolonisation and manage it efficiently it is fundamental to collect objective and updated data. This is one of the main activities of the project LifeWolfAlps, that will be presented during the conference: a coordinated monitoring of the wolf across the whole Italian Alpine territory.
The initiative is organized by the Natural History Museum of Milan in collaboration with the Italian Society of Natural Sciences, the Milan Hikers Society, the University of Insubria and Lombardy Region.
The event is on 10th May 2018 from 17 h at the Natural History Museum of Milan auditorium (Corso Venezia 55, M1 Palestro)
